The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has released the official detailed notification for the Security Assistant / Executive (SA/Exe) recruitment under Intelligence Bureau (IB), announcing a total of 4,987 vacancies across India. 🧾 Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Matriculation (Class 10) pass from a recognised board

  • Domicile: Must have a domicile certificate of the state/UT where applying

  • Language: Proficiency in one of the local languages/ dialects of the respective region is mandatory

  • Age Limit (as on 17 August 2025):

    • Minimum: 18 years

    • Maximum: 27 years

    • Relaxation: 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST candidates


💵 Pay Scale & Benefits

  • Pay Level: Level 3 under 7th CPC with a pay band of ₹21,700 – ₹69,100/month

  • Additional Allowances:

    • 20% Special Security Allowance

    • DA, HRA, Transport Allowance

    • Cash compensation for duty on holidays (up to 30 days)


🛠 Selection Process & Exam Pattern

Tier I – Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  • Duration: 1 hour

  • Sections (100 questions total):

    • General Awareness – 20

    • Quantitative Aptitude – 20

    • Analytical/Logical Reasoning – 20

    • English Language – 20

    • General Studies – 20

  • Marks: 100 (1 mark each), negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer

Tier II – Descriptive Test

  • Translation of a 500-word passage between English and local language

  • Qualifying in nature (zero score does not disqualify the candidate)

  • Duration: 1 hour; Total marks: 50 (Translation 40 + Spoken ability evaluation 10)

Tier III – Interview / Personality Test

  • Face-to-face interview

  • Assesses spoken proficiency, field readiness, and personality

  • Total Marks: 50

Final selection is based on aggregate scores across all tiers and includes document verification and a medical exam.


📝 How to Apply

  1. Visit the official portal at mha.gov.in or ncs.gov.in from 26 July 2025 onward

  2. Register with valid e-mail and mobile number

  3. Log in to fill out the application form with personal and educational details

  4. Upload documents: Photograph (35mm×45mm), signature, Class 10 certificate, domicile certificate, caste certificate (if applicable)

  5. Pay application fee online:

    • Gen/OBC/EWS (Male): ₹650

    • SC/ST/Male/Female: ₹550 (includes ₹550 processing fee; ₹100 exam fee extra for Gen/OBC/EWS male)

  6. Submit and download confirmation for reference
